Knitting Love

I thought I’d show you my last knit of 2013.  I hadn’t really planned on anymore knitting projects after the Christmas toys but after all my packing was completed, all my research was completed, I actually had nothing to do.  I had idle hands.  And that just would not do so please let me introduce Tuck the Turtle.  He will join Sister W’s household as Baby N’s first birthday present.  I hope he likes it, along with his Cheepy Chick from Christmas.

If anyone is interested, you can find the pattern for Tuck the Turtle here.  It’s a free pattern from Spud & Chloe.  You remember Chloe from last Christmas?  They are still well loved by their respective “Moms”.

The Christmas toys were a success.  All the kids loved them.  Big Sister Z loved the pink pig, now named Curly.  Little Brother Z loves dogs so of course he loved the puppy, now named Spot.  The only one that I was concerned about was Big Sister B and the squirrel.  But she loved him.  I don’t know if the squirrel received a name.  And I certainly don’t expect a name for the chicken.  The kids have already told me what I should knit for them next time.  I have been instructed to produce a moose, and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.  Oh My.  We shall see.

I also realize that I never mentioned where I got the patterns for my four new knitted friends.  Please check out Amigurumi Animal Friends.I found this in my local yarn shop.  The designs are by Michele Wilcox.  There’s a whole variety of animals that you can knit.  If you spent an entire day devoted to knitting, you could probably get one or two animals done.  It depends on what other stuff you have going on in your day.  If you look closely at the picture, you might recognize the owl.  I’ve made him for a friend’s child a few years back.  My next project(s)?  Try to finish the Feather and Fan scarf and then start on my projects with the New Zealand yarn that I’m going to purchase.  And then find a pattern for Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.  Believe it or not, I actually have a pattern for a moose.  So, really, I’m practically done my knitting for 2014.  So NOT!
