New Zealand. That’s pretty much what my last year has been all about. Everything I’ve done this last year has revolved around New Zealand with the main focus of becoming fit and healthy enough for all the hikes and climbs that I had planned on doing while there. It has been an all consuming multiplicity of habits, hobbies and favourites that have culminated in a life-changing experience and I can’t wait for what is to come in the next year! But this year with all the changes, it has renewed my spirit enough to try to put more effort into living up to Helen Keller’s quote. Because of my trip, I have quite a few more followers than I did the last year and funny enough it wasn’t until these last two weeks that my visitors and viewers have jumped up drastically and all because of one photo I took of a photograph that I discovered on a wall in a theatre. Granted when I found it, I was willing to sit down and order several more cups of tea just so I could admire the photo on the wall when I found it, but I never thought there would come a day when I would have 606 views on one post for that one photo. If you’re really interested, I’ll give you a hint and at least direct you to the post.
I can’t wait for this year to see what other favourites I can add to my life and I thank everyone who has taken the time to visit my little ramblings! I hope I can continue to keep you entertained enough to have you make another visit in the upcoming year.

When I first wrote this page, It was just over 13 months ago. Since then my list of favourites has expanded. I will not go into too much detail here on this page, since it’s all in my posts. But I can say that I have added two nephews and I have rediscovered travelling. I am still trying to live by Helen Keller’s quote but it’s hard! I now have 30 more followers than I did when I first started. Yay! And though it was not my goal to accumulate followers, it does feel nice to know that there are other people out there with similar favourites as me. Perhaps next years update will have the numbers up a little bit more. ‘Till then, I hope my writing is at least entertaining, if not seriously thought-provoking.

I am only one but still I am one. I cannot do everything but still I can do something. I will not refuse to do the something I can do. – Helen Keller
I love this quote. I tried my very best to follow it and for a while I did quite well, but then I lost my way. I am now trying to find my way back, but it’s not easy. But that is life, not easy. What makes it easier for me though, are my favourites: family, friends, experiences, hobbies, etc.
One of my clear favourites is writing. I have been writing since I was in grade school. I love putting pencil to paper. I love cursive writing. Even when typewriters were being phased out, I still wrote everything down first. And now, in this day and age, where almost every household has at least one computer or laptop, I still prefer putting pen to paper before transferring it to the laptop. So now with this blog, this is a new step for me because I am not putting pen to paper first.
If anyone has been visiting my blog, you’ll notice that my current favourites have revolved around knitting and my nieces. When I first started this blog, it wasn’t my intent to just focus on those two favourites, but as I write, I realize, I don’t need a lot of favourites.
I hope you enjoy what you read. I enjoy writing it down. If you would like to share your favourites with me, please do. I would always like to expand my list of favourites!
